Position Summary: As an ALDI Lead Grocery Packer & Checker, you serve as a subject-matter expert on front-end register efficiency, scan speed standards, customer service escalations, and cashier peer coaching. While actively operating point-of-sale registers, you assist shift leads by directing line queue flow and training new team members. This position is 100% physical and strictly requires full on-site presence inside the retail store (zero remote availability).
Key Duties & Expectations: Execute rapid item scanning at POS registers while managing cash, card, and electronic payment transactions accurately. Monitor register line queues, calling backup cashiers as customer volume increases to maintain fast throughput. Coach newly hired checkers on proper seated register scanning techniques, payment processing, and front-end sanitation standards.
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Requires prior retail cashiering or front-end customer service experience, strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and leadership potential.
