Role Description

Designed specifically with university and community college students in mind, the ALDI Student Store Associate role offers a flexible retail position that accommodates changing class schedules, exam periods, and campus commitments. Working in a fast-paced retail environment, student associates gain hands-on operational experience across high-speed customer checkout, product stocking, inventory rotation, and store upkeep. This position offers competitive starting pay, valuable resume-building experience in customer service and logistics, and a direct path toward store leadership upon graduation. This role is 100% physical and strictly requires full on-site presence at the store with zero remote or work-from-home options.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate point-of-sale registers efficiently, achieving company scan-speed benchmarks and processing cash, card, and electronic payment transactions accurately.
• Unload delivery pallets using manual and electric pallet jacks, restocking merchandise shelves, display cases, and freezer sections according to planograms.
• Front-face product packaging across assigned store aisles to maintain clean, organized visual merchandising standards.
• Assist shoppers courteously by locating items, answering product inquiries, and providing friendly customer support.
• Operate cardboard compactors and recycling balers to keep stockrooms and sales floors clear of debris and safety hazards.
• Perform continuous store sanitation routines, including floor sweeping, cart corral management, and spill remediation.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
• Currently enrolled as a student in an accredited college, university, or vocational program (or High School Diploma/GED equivalent).
• Ability to perform physical retail labor, including lifting up to 45 lbs, standing, bending, reaching, and walking throughout shifts.
• Strong time-management, communication, and organizational skills to balance work and academic priorities.
• Reliable attendance and a team-oriented mindset.
