Role Description

The ALDI Store Manager Trainee program is an intensive leadership development track designed to prepare high-potential candidates to independently operate an ALDI retail location. Working closely with experienced Store Managers and Area Managers, trainees complete rigorous hands-on training across store operations, financial budgeting, inventory management, labor scheduling, and team recruitment. Upon successful completion of the training curriculum, trainees transition directly into full Store Manager assignments. This position is 100% physical and strictly requires full on-site presence at designated training stores (zero remote availability).

Key Responsibilities

• Master all frontline store operations, including point-of-sale cashiering, product stocking, inventory rotation, and facility maintenance.
• Learn store financial management, P&L analysis, expense control, and labor budgeting principles.
• Practice staff recruitment, candidate interviewing, onboarding, and performance coaching methods.
• Prepare weekly employee work schedules and monitor store payroll productivity metrics.
• Ensure store compliance with company customer service standards, food safety guidelines, and workplace safety policies.
• Manage product ordering routines, inventory counts, and loss prevention procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous supervisory, leadership, or management experience in retail, grocery, or hospitality environments.
• Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
• Physical capability to perform retail tasks (lifting up to 45 lbs, standing, bending, reaching).
• Flexibility to travel to assigned training store locations within the division.

Job Type & Schedule

• Job Type: Full-Time (100% On-Site).
• Schedule: Full-time rotating shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
