Role Description

Designed for experienced student employees or upper-level university students studying business, management, or supply chain, the ALDI Student Shift Lead Trainee position offers a structured introduction to retail management. While continuing to perform frontline cashiering and stocking duties during flexible part-time shifts, trainees assist Shift Managers with front-end queue coordination, register drawer audits, and peer coaching. This role provides advanced leadership experience, higher hourly pay rates, and prioritized entry into full-time Store Manager Trainee programs upon college graduation. This role is 100% physical and strictly requires full on-site presence at the store (no remote capability).

Key Responsibilities

• Execute frontline cashiering and product stocking while learning store supervisory routines.
• Assist shift leads with monitoring register lane queues, calling backup cashiers during busy traffic periods.
• Learn register drawer balancing routines, safe audits, and daily cash reconciliation procedures.
• Coach newly hired student associates on seated register scanning standards and ALDI work methods.
• Assist with store opening or closing facility security walks alongside shift managers.
• Support customer service resolutions and pricing inquiries politely.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
• Currently enrolled as a junior, senior, or graduate student in a college or university (Business/Management majors preferred).
• Prior retail, customer service, or supervisory experience required.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Physical capability for retail work (lifting up to 45 lbs, standing, bending, walking).

• Job Type: Part-Time / Student Leadership Track (100% On-Site).
• Schedule: Flexible part-time hours tailored for upper-level college students including evenings and weekends.
