Role Description

As an ALDI Assistant Store Manager, you partner directly with the Store Manager to oversee daily operations, drive sales volume, and lead store team members. You take on key leadership responsibilities including supervising shift activities, developing action plans to improve operating metrics, managing employee schedules, and stepping up to run store operations in the Store Manager's absence. This role balances administrative management—such as payroll control and inventory auditing—with active frontline execution like cashiering, shelf restocking, and customer service. This position is 100% physical and strictly requires full on-site presence at the store with zero remote work options.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in developing and implementing operational action plans to improve performance results.
• Supervise day-to-day store activities, delegating stocking, cashiering, and cleaning duties to team members.
• Participate in candidate interviewing, onboarding, and training of new store personnel.
• Ensure store personnel adhere to inventory control, product handling, and cash control policies to minimize loss.
• Maintain product quality, freshness, display cleanliness, and accurate price signage across all departments.
• Resolve customer inquiries and operational concerns effectively, upholding high customer satisfaction standards.
• Identify workplace hazards, ensuring proper ergonomic practices and maintaining store equipment in working order.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; prior supervisory experience in retail or grocery preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team-building capabilities.
• Ability to perform physical retail tasks, including lifting up to 45 lbs, standing, bending, and walking throughout the shift.
• Flexibility to work open, mid, and closing shifts as store operations demand.
• Basic mathematical proficiency and cash handling experience.

Job Type & Schedule

• Job Type: Full-Time (100% On-Site).
• Schedule: Rotating schedules including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
