Role Description

The ALDI Part-Time Student Cashier position provides undergraduate and graduate students with an ideal part-time opportunity featuring flexible evening and weekend scheduling. Student Cashiers operate seated point-of-sale registers, handling high-speed item scanning, cash transactions, and electronic payments while delivering exceptional service to shoppers. Beyond register operations, student cashiers assist with front-end store conditioning, cart collection, and shelf replenishment. This position offers flexible hours around class schedules, excellent hourly earnings, and practical experience in financial transactions and customer relationship management. This position is 100% physical and strictly requires full on-site presence at the store with zero remote work options.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute rapid item scanning at seated POS registers, maintaining company scan-speed targets while ensuring item accuracy.
• Process cash payments, credit/debit card transactions, and electronic benefits transfers securely and accurately.
• Resolve customer inquiries at checkout politely, providing helpful information about products and store policies.
• Maintain cleanliness across register lanes, sanitizing checkout belts, counter surfaces, and card readers continuously.
• Collect shopping carts from parking lot corrals and organize entrance cart bays cleanly.
• Assist with front-facing merchandise on sales shelves near checkout lanes during quieter customer periods.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
• Current enrollment in an accredited college, university, or vocational institution (or High School Diploma/GED).
• Basic mathematical skills and comfort handling cash transactions.
• Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and customer-focused service mindset.
• Physical capability to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs during active cashiering shifts.
