Role Overview & Responsibilities

As an ALDI Assistant Store Manager, you share full operational leadership of the store with the Store Manager — managing associate scheduling and performance coaching, monitoring inventory shrink and labor cost against the store's budget, and independently running the store during your assigned shifts with complete decision-making authority.

• Associate Scheduling & Performance Coaching: Build the weekly associate schedule against projected customer traffic and labor budget targets, and conduct regular one-on-one coaching conversations with associates and shift managers — documenting performance feedback and escalating any pattern of underperformance to the formal ALDI performance improvement process.
• Inventory Shrink & Cost Control: Review the store's weekly shrink report against the district target, investigating any category showing an unexplained variance, and manage ordering and markdown decisions on perishable inventory to minimize waste while keeping shelves adequately stocked for customer demand.
• Independent Shift Ownership: Assume full operational authority over the store during assigned shifts in the Store Manager's absence — making staffing, customer service, and vendor coordination decisions independently, and briefing the Store Manager on any significant issue at the start of their next shift.
